The rules that apply when you order from this site, written plainly.
These terms
These terms govern your use of velvetore.shop and any purchase you make through it. By placing an order you accept them. If you do not accept them, please do not order.
Velvet Ore is a trading name used for the sale of jewellery through this website. You can reach us at velvetore@mail.grokbot.com.
The product
The site sells one item: the Noël bracelet — alternating red and white moonstone beads with a single antiqued gold-finish bow, on an elastic cord, in a gift box.
The images on this site are made to show the design as accurately as we can. Two things are nonetheless true of everything we sell:
- Colour varies between screens. The reds and the pale flash of the stones may look slightly different on your device than in your hand.
- The stones are natural. Every bead is a little different in tone and pattern. Small variation is a property of the material, not a defect, and a bracelet is not faulty because it is not identical to the photograph.
Bead sizes are given as the diameter of each bead, in millimetres. Please choose your size with care; both options and their prices are stated on the product page and again at checkout.
Price and currency
All prices are in US dollars (USD). The bracelet is $98.00 in the 11 mm bead size and $148.00 in the 16 mm bead size. Shipping is included — there is no separate shipping charge at checkout, whatever the destination.
Prices may change, but a change never affects an order already paid for. Any customs duty, import tax or handling fee charged by your country on arrival is your responsibility and is not included in the price. We do not control those charges and cannot tell you in advance what they will be.
How an order is formed
Clicking a buy button takes you to PayPal, where you review the item, the size and the total before paying. An order is formed when PayPal confirms your payment to us, not when you click the button. Until payment is confirmed there is no contract between us.
Payment is taken in full at the time of order. We do not offer instalments.
After payment you are returned to a confirmation page and PayPal sends you a receipt. Please keep it; it is your record of the purchase.
We may decline or cancel an order — and refund you in full — if the item is no longer available, if the price was displayed in error, if we cannot ship to the address given, or if we reasonably suspect a fraudulent payment. If we cancel, we tell you by email and refund to the original payment method.
Delivery
Orders are dispatched from China within 2–3 business days. Delivery estimates are estimates, not guarantees, and delays in customs or with the carrier are outside our control. Risk in the goods passes to you on delivery. If a parcel is lost in transit, tell us — we will work it out with the carrier, and see the returns policy for what we cover.
Returns
Returns are governed by our returns policy, which forms part of these terms. Nothing in that policy or in these terms removes a right you have under the consumer law of the country you live in.
Use of this site
You may browse, print and share these pages for your own use. You may not copy the site's text or photographs for commercial use, scrape it at volume, attempt to interfere with its operation, or use it in a way that breaks the law.
Intellectual property
The Velvet Ore name, the seal device, the product photography and the text on this site belong to Velvet Ore. They may not be reproduced commercially without permission. You are welcome to share a link, or to repost a photograph with credit and a link back.
Our responsibility to you
We are responsible for loss you suffer that is a foreseeable result of our breaking these terms or failing to use reasonable care. We are not responsible for loss that was not foreseeable, for business losses such as lost profit, or for events outside our reasonable control such as carrier strikes, customs action or severe weather.
We do not exclude or limit our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that the law does not allow to be excluded. If you are a consumer, your statutory rights are unaffected by anything in these terms.
Jewellery is described as adult jewellery and is not intended for children under 12. It contains small parts and is not a toy.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the People's Republic of China, and the courts of China have jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them. This does not take away the protection of mandatory consumer law in the country where you live, or your right to bring a claim in your local courts where the law gives you that right.
Changes
We may update these terms. The version that applies to your purchase is the one published when you paid. The date at the top of this page shows when it last changed.
